The above video is from an actual webcast of a funeral in Southy Wales, in Brynlluan, Gorslas.
Live streaming started at the Funeral Directors parlour, then walking past the family home to St Lleian's Church in Gorslas...I live streamed as we were walking along. It was then over to the cemetery for the interment service and burial.
Funeral Live Streaming in South Wales
A South Wales funeral often takes place somewhere with deep roots: a chapel in a valley village, a hillside cemetery, a coastal churchyard, a family home. Those are also the places where friends and relatives living far away can least easily travel to. Peter, a full-time videographer and live stream expert, has filmed and streamed many funerals and memorial services, so that nobody has to miss the day.
Streaming from chapels, churches and rural venues
Smaller and more remote venues often have no WiFi, and sometimes no mains power either. Peter’s set-up doesn’t need either one. He can stream from the family home, follow the service to the church or chapel, and continue on to the graveside or crematorium if you’d like the whole day shared.
A private page for family and friends
Rather than posting on social media, Peter creates a private web page just for the service. You send the link to the people you choose, wherever they are in the world, and they watch live on a computer, smartphone, Smart TV, iPad or tablet. The page can also include up to 10 photos of your loved one and the Order of Service.
A keepsake recording
After the service, Peter lightly edits the footage and adds it to the same page. Guests can watch it again whenever they wish, and you can download it to keep.
Across South Wales and the rest of the UK
Peter covers South Wales, including Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Bridgend, Barry, Pontypridd, Merthyr Tydfil, Caerphilly, Neath, Port Talbot, Llanelli, Cwmbran, Monmouth and Abergavenny. His service is also available nationally.
Questions families ask
Can you stream from a remote chapel, church or burial ground?
Yes. No WiFi or mains power is needed. I have all my equipment of a wheeled tripod so can move around easily. I can also use a satellite uplink if mobile signal is not strong enough.
Can you film at the house and the graveside as well as the service?
Yes, if the family would like it.
Do people need an account or any software to watch?
No. It’s a basic web page, not searchable by Google, with no password, and very easy to view.
Can relatives overseas watch?
Yes. Anyone with an internet connection can join from anywhere in the world.
Will we have a copy afterwards?
Yes. The recording is added to the web page and can be downloaded.
How much does it cost?
Around £410.00 , depending on distance for one venue.
